Classes license by Les Mills

hi blogger and everybody,
well, in the last post i had posted about gym at Fitness First at The Curve and today i will like to write more about the classes that provide over there but just only the class have a license from Les Mills.... before that, i would like to said that have four types of category..there are Cardiovascular Classes, Mind and Body Classes, Strength and Conditioning Classes and Indoor Cycling Classes...well, in this post i will write all about the classes and let get into the first category Cardiovascular Classes...first of all,

Cardiovascular Classes

In this category there have Body Combat, Body Attack, Body Jam, Body Step, Hi Lo and Step. However, in this topic i just briefly describe Body Combat, Body Attack, Body Jam and Body Step classes only.

Body Attack (my favorite) :-) What is body attack?
Body Attack is a rapid calorie burner that delivers fast improvement in general endurance and increase overall body strength...Les Mills had released until Body Attack 63....The benefit that this class provide are of cause the most importantly burn calorie for the learners body....others benefits are stated at below:

  • Tone and shape
  • Raise overall fitness and stamina for high energy sports like football or tennis
  • Improve co-ordination and agility
  • Deliver strength through core conditioning work
  • Enhance bone health and density
  • Increase heart and lung capacity through a full-body cardio workout through a full-body cardio workout
What you need to bring during the classes??? Of coz towel and water bottle and also a yoga mat but over the fitness first there have a yoga mat...

Body Combat is the class that raise your fitness level with this knockout workout incorporating moves and stances from a range of disciplines including Karate, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Tai Chi and Tae Kwan Do. I just joined this class for just one time only....Anyway, Les Mills had released until Body COmbat 38..The benefit for this classes are :

  • Improves heart and lung function and reduces the risk of heart disease

  • Tones and shapes key muscle groups

  • Burns calories for a leaner body

  • Improves co-ordination and agility

  • Improves bone density

  • Improves posture and core strength and stability

  • Builds self-confidence

What do you need to brings during classes? Same as Body Attack classes

Body Step is the energizing step workout that makes you feel liberated and alive. Using a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step you get huge motivation from sing-a-long music and approachable instructors. Cardio blocks push fat burning systems into high gear followed by muscle conditioning tracks that shape and tone your body. Les Mills had released until Body Step 74

The benefit that provided from this class are
  • muscle toning
  • calorie burning
  • lower body muscle definition.
What do you need to bring to this classes? I do not know coz i still haven't join the class before...=_=

The benefit to join Body Jam are :
  • burning lots of calories.
  • improving coordination, with a big focus on moving through a wide range of planes and movement tempos.
  • motivate participants to perform at their best.
  • will get you hooked on dance and the emotional high that comes from this unique form of self-expression
What do need to bring during Body Jam classes?? My answer same as Body Jam classes.....

The next category are Mind & Body Classes

In this category there have Body Balances, Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Power Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Yogalates and Fitball core...I just briefly write just only Body Balance coz this is only classes that Les Mills provide.

Body Balances is one of fantastic classes that integrates Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates, Flexibility and Core Training set to uplifting and inspirational music. The classes will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed with a sence of wellbeing and calm....My comment.... people who are stress totally must go this class....:-p Les Mills had released till Body Balance 43.

The benefit for joining this class are
  • Improve your joint flexibility and range of movement
  • Increase your core strength
  • Improve your cardio-vascular function
  • Burn calories
  • Reduce your stress levels
  • Provide a lasting sense of well-being and calm
  • Focus your mind and raise your level of consciousness through controlled breathing
What need to bring during this class? I also don't know but i know must be need to bring yoga mat, water bottles and towel.....

The next category are

Strength and Conditioning Classes

In this category, there have Body Pump, Body Vive and BLT I will describe more about the first two classes....

Les Mills said that this class is the world's fatest way to get in shape.... Les Mills had released until Body Pump 68.


The benefit of joining this class are

Burn up to 600 calories per class for fat loss

  • Improve your general fitness

  • Shape and tone your muscles

  • Improve your bone density (helps ward off osteoporosis)

  • Gives you a sense of achievement

What do you need to bring??? As i know you need to bring water bottles and towel only because all the equiment will be provided by Fitness First when you join the class.

Body Vive is a low impact class that using ball and resistance tubes. It integrates aerobic exercise for heart fitness, resistance training for strength and stability, strecthing as well as mobility work. This programmes is created for all participants espcially for the participants who are just join fitness...Body Vive is one of the newest classes that Les Mills have, so it released just until Body Vive 9.

The benefit for joining this classes are

  • Improved muscular strength and endurance

  • Increased heart fitness

  • Improved flexibility and range of movement

  • Better agility and balance

  • Improved posture

  • Weight loss through elevated calorie expenditure

  • Reduced risk of bone and joint degeneration

  • General wellness and ‘feel good’ benefits


What do you need to bring? just bring yourself, water bottles and towel.

The last category are Indoor Cycling Classes. In this category there just have one classes there are RPM.

RPM (Raw Power in Motion) is a cardiovascular cycling class that are fun and is the ulitimate calorie killer. Start pedaling and let go as the music takes you on the ride of your life along various terrains, speeds and intensities. Les Mills have released until RPM 41.

The benefit of joining this class are

  • Increase your cardiovascular fitness, burn fat and tone and shape your legs, hips, and butt

  • Increase leg strength and muscular endurance without building bulk

  • Burn up to 600 calories in a normal 50-minute structure (RPM™ has been proven to burn up to 800 calories in one hour)

What do you need to bring? Water bottle and towel cause you will be sweating a lot.

Gym at Fitness First

hi readers,
this is my first post for the year of 2009.....as requested from my brother name kwong fei he want to know more about my life in gym....first of all, i would like to said that my brother always ask about gym and asked him to join he sure will answer "I'm poor not like you so rich" =_= speechless when listen to his answer.....secondly, i can said that my life over there are good and i enjoyable...i always went to fitness first the curve to do my workout and training classes over here......well, what can i said that i had join almost 4 months and i am quite happy with the services that fitness first provide....free classes and free drinks and even you can go there everyday without limit of time....can you imagine so good.....haha.....over the last few months, i feel miserable because first time go to the gym and i couln't know what should i do and what should i not to do.....but then luckily my personal trainer name robert helped me and explained to me how to use all the cardio, free weights and even strength equipment....thanks robert......honestly, i still using personal trainee although i know how to use mostly all the equitments....but i still need it to help me to build muscle...haha....besides that, he is my just a gym friend....frankly i don't have any friend except robert.....well, what to do???? no friend want to join is like that have to do it alone.....okay let talk about the classes, at fitness first there have a lot of classes.....mostly all the classes are certified by Les Mills and even the instructors also must have a Les Mills certificate to teach....first of all let me tell you about all the classes that Les Mills provide....
Body Attack (my favourite), Body Combat, Body Jam, Body Vive, Body Step, Body Balance, Body Pump and RPM.....
the next post i will tell you more about the classes details......so, wait for my next post.....haha.........
